Let It Snow – Christmas 2020
Our Christmas theme in 2020 was “Let It Snow”. With more than 10,000 bright white lights, we added a little bit of holiday cheer to town.

9-11 Remembrance Ceremony
Every year on September 11, Cape May holds a remembrance ceremony to honor those who were killed during the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Our local Coast Guard base joins forces with the city for a moving event at sunset.
Veterans’ Day
Every November, we participate in the B&B’s for Vet event by donating rooms for active and retired military. After a complimentary stay at The Mission Inn, they participate in Cape May’s Veterans’ Day event.
Eggs Benedict for Breakfast
Mmmmm! Eggs Benedict with a homemade hollandaise sauce topped with fresh lump crab meat and pumpernickel bread crumbs. Served with a side of Canadian bacon and pan-fried crispy potatoes and a chocolate chip scone.

House Concert – Chivalrous Crickets
In March, 2019, the Chivalrous Crickets filled the inn with medieval melodies, Celtic harmonies, and stories about the legend of Robin Hood. Very cool!

Exit Zero Jazz Festival
Twice a year, Exit Zero Jazz Festival brings world-class jazz musicians to Cape May. Our guests love to combine a spring or fall getaway at the beach with this special event.
The San Juan Bautista Room
Our largest guest room comes with both a king bed and two twin trundle beds, making it the perfect option for a mother-daughter getaway or a girls’ trip weekend.

During your stay with us, you will have complimentary access to our fleet of beach cruiser bikes. Ride them around the block or all over town. It’s the best way to see Cape May!

As one of our most spacious rooms, the San Luis Rey room is located on the second floor and offers guests a beautiful and comfortable spot to call home during their time in Cape May.

This second-floor guest room features a comfortable king bed, lots of natural light, and a hand-crafted headboard designed to look like the front of the California mission that the room is named after.

Welcome to the San Francisco de Asis room! Guests love the secluded bungalow feeling of this second floor room. They also love the luxurious king bed and sunken jetted tub in this beautiful room.

Fourth of July Fireworks
During the summer of 2020, Cape May’s fireworks were canceled due to COVID-19. So The Mission Inn put on it’s own virtual fireworks display!
Monarch Butterfly
Thousands of monarch butterflies visit Cape May every year as they migrate in the fall. This one was hanging out in our garden and filling up on fuel for the long flight south.
Light Up Cape May – 2019 Winners!
We were happy to be named the “Best Overall” winners for our holiday light decorations in December, 2019. Our Christmas theme was Merry Fishmas!
San Juan Capistrano Rain Shower
All of our guest rooms have private en suite showers, including the San Juan Capistrano’s walk-in shower with beautiful accent tiles and an overhead rain shower head.

A beautiful handmade headboard, a luxurious king-sized bed, a large closet, lots of natural light, and original wood floors welcome guests to this first-floor room.

All of our guest rooms have plenty of storage space. This super-sized closet in the San Buenaventura room includes a creatively painted library mural.

The beautiful San Juan Capistrano Room is located on the first floor and features a luxurious king bed with lots of natural light and views of our back patio gardens.
The San Diego Room
The San Diego guest room is one of our largest rooms. A private seating area is situated in front of the gas fireplace and features two comfortable oversized reading chairs.
Jetted Spa Showers
All of our rooms have private baths and most have luxurious jetted spa showers. The one shown here is in the beautiful San Luis Rey room located on the second floor of the inn.
The Santa Barbara Room
The Santa Barbara guest room features a luxurious king bed, artistic murals, a fireplace, closet space, and a private en suite bathroom with a jetted shower.
Cape May’s Front Porch Project
This photo was taken during COVID-19 quarantine as part of Cape May’s Front Porch Project. A local photographer took free photos of people around town, and in exchange we donated money to the Cape May Food Closet.

Beautiful hand-painted murals fill the walls around the inn, providing guests with peaceful and artistic surroundings.

The layout of The Mission Inn provides guests with plenty of open and airy spaces with lots of natural light.
Pollinator Friendly Gardens
Most of the plants and flowers around the inn are designed to attract pollinators. The bees and butterflies love them!
Sweet or Savory
Our guests will enjoy a variety of breakfast dishes during their stay, including both sweet and savory options. On “sweet day” Chef Leslie’s homemade fresh fruit crepes are always a guest favorite!

Chef Leslie will create eggs any way you’d like them prepared, including a delicious egg white omellette – just ask!
Cape May’s Original Boardwalk
We now have a “promenade” that runs along the ocean, but in the late 1800’s Cape May had a beautiful boardwalk for visitors to stroll along.
The Mission Inn in 1934
This was a private residence until 1992, and the private beach house for several prominent Philadelphia families.

Christmas Ornament – 2018
Every year we do a special commemorative ornament that we sell and donate the proceeds to a local charity. This year’s charity was the NJ Audubon.
