To help you get around during your stay, we’ve put together a list of local transportation information.
Most of the meters downtown have been updated to work with the Pay Mobile smartphone app. We suggest that you click here to download this app before your visit so that you can set it up to park easily in town. Cape May’s parking meters are all active from May 1 through October 31, but some areas right downtown remain on through the end of December. Please read the signs before you park your vehicle. We don’t want our guests getting parking tickets!
Cape May is well-suited for exploring on two wheels as it is extremely flat and bike-friendly. We have complimentary bikes available for our guests to use during their stay, or you are always welcome to bring your own bikes and store them in our garage. Whether you ride our bikes or your own, click here to check out a list of suggested destinations around town that guests love to ride to during their visit.
We are located just a block and a half from the beginning of the promenade. This paved walking path extends along the ocean for about 1.5 miles, making it perfect for a morning walk or run. To see a list of other walking trails in and around Cape May, click here.
If you want to avoid the parking meters and enjoy a fun way to get around town during your stay, check out our friends at Cape May Free Ride. They operate a free golf cart shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off anywhere in town. The service runs daily from 4 pm to 10 pm during the summer season, and then just weekends in the off-season. There is no charge for the ride, but the drivers just work for tips so please be generous! Call 609-435-2680.
During the summer season Cape May offers free public transportation via a jitney service. These air-conditioned buses run daily between Memorial Day and Labor day from 11am to 11pm. And their route includes a pick-up stop just around the corner from The Mission Inn.
Many guests are used to using ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft. While these services are available in Cape May, please be advised that they can take longer than usual to pick you up. Many of them are based in Wildwood so once you set up a ride, it could take 10-15 minutes for the driver to arrive in Cape May.
At The Mission Inn we provide free charging for our guests driving electric cars. But if you own a Tesla and want to tap into the nearest super-charger, there is one located about 20 minutes from us in Cape May Courthouse, NJ. Click here for directions to this super-charger station.
