  • Back Patio Fountain

Relax and rejuvenate in our back patio area. Breath in the ocean the air, listen to the soothing sounds of the fountain, and watch the birds at the feeders. Ahhhh…

  • Certified Wildlife Habitat

We are proud to have our gardens earn the distinction of a certified wildlife habitat from the National Wildlife Federation.

  • Back Patio

Our wooden monk on the back patio is watching over the birds and the blooms.

  • The Mission Inn Gardens

We just love these little round flowers that add a signature pop of color to our yard.

  • The Mission Inn Gardens

    An early sign of spring!

  • Daisies for Days

Our shasta daisies are late bloomers, bringing some beauty to our gardens in the fall.

  • The Mission Inn Gardens

    Beautiful blooms in the springtime!

  • Summer Sky at Nightfall

What an amazing sky over the inn! One of the most colorful sunsets ever.

  • 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony

Every year on September 11, Cape May holds a remembrance ceremony to honor those who were killed during the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Our local Coast Guard base joins forces with the city for a moving event at sunset.

  • Summer Sunset

Watching the sun sink behind the lighthouse on a warm summer night is magical!

  • Exit Zero Jazz Festival

Twice a year, Exit Zero Jazz Festival brings world-class jazz musicians to Cape May. Our guests love to combine a spring or fall getaway at the beach with this special event.

  • Fourth of July Fireworks

During the summer of 2020, Cape May’s fireworks were canceled due to COVID-19. So The Mission Inn put on it’s own virtual fireworks display!

  • Monarch Butterfly

Thousands of monarch butterflies visit Cape May every year as they migrate in the fall. This one was hanging out in our garden and filling up on fuel for the long flight south.

  • Pollinator Friendly Gardens

Most of the plants and flowers around the inn are designed to attract pollinators. The bees and butterflies love them!

  • Cape May’s Original Boardwalk

We now have a “promenade” that runs along the ocean, but in the late 1800’s Cape May had a beautiful boardwalk for visitors to stroll along.

  • The Mission Inn in 1934

This was a private residence until 1992, and the private beach house for several prominent Philadelphia families.

  • Back Patio Firepit

The gas firepit on our back patio offers guests a relaxing space to enjoy in the cool evening air of the spring and fall seasons.

  • Fall at The Mission Inn

Fall is a beautiful time to visit Cape May.
