Getting Around Cape May

We have bikes available for you to use during your stay. They are located in the back, on the right side of the home. You may use any bike in the bike rack or in the garage. If you are riding downtown or anywhere that you will be leaving the bike, please be sure to grab a bike lock to take with you. All of the locks have the same four-digit combination – 1117. When you return, please leave the bikes in the driveway so that we know which ones need to be sanitized at the end of the day. Do not put them in the bike rack or the garage.

If you prefer to walk, we are located just a block and a half from the beginning of the promenade. Simply go out the front door and down the steps, then head right on New Jersey Ave. Take the first left onto Philadelphia Ave, walk a few hundred yards to the end and turn right onto Beach Ave. Walk a few hundred yards further on Beach Ave, and you will see the entrance to the promenade on the left. If you walk the entire length, it is about 1.5 miles.

If you need a lift during your stay, give our friends at Cape May Free Ride a call – 609-435-2680. They typically run on weekends from 4 pm to 10 pm and can take you anywhere in Cape May. The driver’s just work for tips so please be generous!

Safety Precautions

For all of our guests, your health and safety has been, and will continue to be, our top priority! In addition to our normal detailed cleaning practices that our guests have come to expect, we have also implemented new enhanced procedures to help ensure your well-being and peace-of-mind during your next visit. These have been developed based on insight and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New Jersey and Cape May County Health Departments. In addition, information from national and regional lodging and hospitality organizations were consulted. These included the Association of Lodging Professionals, the American Hotels & Lodging Association, and the NJ Restaurant & Hospitality Association.

We are committed to using safe, effective, and eco-friendly products. To that end, we have carefully researched and selected the following CDC-recommended cleaning and sanitizing products to use. We encourage you to learn more by clicking on the specific product links.

Our Staff

Our staff is part of our family, and we have taken this opportunity to reevaluate safety guidelines for our staff. And, as a result, we have implemented additional steps to ensure their well-being and that of our guests, including:

  • All staff are required to stay home if they are not feeling well.
  • All staff are required to submit to a health screening at the start of their shift. This will include having their temperatures taken.
  • All staff are required to wear disposable gloves and face masks.
  • All housekeeping staff are required to wash their hands throughout their shift. They will wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after each room cleaning. They will also use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • As usual, all staff are required to wash their hands frequently with soap and water.
  • We have placed new signage in all cleaning areas to remind staff to avoid touching their faces. Additional signs address the proper way to wear, handle and dispose of personal protective equipment.

In-Room Amenities

In the studio you will find many amenities to make your stay comfortable. These include the following:

  • TV and Remote Control: All guest rooms have a TV. In some rooms, the TV is tucked away in the custom cabinetry. Inside you will find a flat panel TV and remote control. We offer basic cable services for our guests during their stay, and the remote control is fully sanitized and sealed in plastic before you check in. To turn the TV on simply press the “All Power” button at the top of the remote. Then you can use the Channel Up/Down and the Volume Up/Down buttons, or press the “Guide” button to activate on on-screen list of channels and shows. Please be courteous of other guests and keep your volume at a reasonable level.

To turn the AC unit on simply press the “Power” button and then adjust the temperature up/down to your liking. We kindly ask that you set your AC to 70 degrees (or turn it off altogether) when you are heading out for the day.
  • Air Purifier: We have added a powerful air purifier with HEPA filters and internal UVC lights to each room. These will help to eliminate harmful dust, allergens, microorganisms, and more from the rooms. And the UVC light safely kill germs, mold, mildew, and in some cases even bacteria and viruses. Feel free to leave this running during your stay, or you can choose to turn it on/off at your discretion.

  • Beach Chairs and Umbrellas: We provide you with beach chairs and umbrellas to use during your stay. You will be assigned two chairs with your room name on them to use exclusively when you go to the beach. When you return, please place the chairs next to the garage so that we can clean and sanitize them each night. Beach umbrellas can be found in the garage and will be available after breakfast. If you need help carrying or setting up your umbrella on the beach, just ask! We will be happy to assist you. And we’ll also bring it back at the end of the day if you let us know.
  • Beach Towels: During the summer season, you will find two beach towels in the studio. The beach towels are yours to use during your stay. If you need additional beach towels for the next day, you will find clean ones in the cabinet in the garage next door to the studio.
  • Outdoor Shower: Our outdoor shower is located on the right side of the building. Please use it after returning from the beach to wash off any sand before entering the studio. You will also find a sanitation station just outside the shower.
  • Back Patio: We welcome you to make use of our back patio area during your stay. It can be accessed from either side of the building, in the back. There you will find comfortable seating and a table with an umbrella. All seating is cleaned and sanitized daily, and we ask that you practice social distancing when sharing the space with other guests.
  • Firepit: The firepit is available for all guests to use in the evenings. To turn it on, please find the small silver box located directly behind the firepit on the wall of the house. Open the box and you will see a light switch – just flip the switch to turn the firepit on. Be sure that no one is standing directly over the firepit when you turn it on! And be sure to turn if off when you leave. The back patio and the firepit close at 10 pm out of respect for the guest rooms located above this area. Thank you for your cooperation.
